Under the direction of the President, the Vice President of Administrative Services provides vision, leadership, planning and coordination to develop and maintain EvCC's financial infrastructure, resource distribution, and administrative systems in the areas of human resources, policy, and finance.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution. Experience may substitute for degree if other qualifications are met.
  • Five years progressively responsible administrative or executive experience.
  • Five years of supervisory experience

    o serving individuals across a diverse spectrum of backgrounds
    o building relationships, networking and working effectively with culturally and socioeconomically diverse populations, community organizations and campus community
    o building coalitions and consensus among diverse stakeholders to achieve institutional goals
    o training and effectively conveying complex information to diverse audiences in individual, small group and large group settings
    o conflict resolution, advising, coaching, and counseling of supervisors and employees on employee relations issues
    o serving as a principal change agent for a large organization
    o long-term planning and large-scale budgets
    o developing innovative strategies to leverage/manage financial resources and to generate untapped revenue sources.
    o leading collective bargaining process development, negotiations, and overseeing labor contract administration
    o developing and maintaining policy and procedures for a complex organization
    o implementing various interpretations and applications of state and federal employment laws including experience with personnel practices, state (civil service) and federal laws relating to employment and labor law, Title IX, and Affirmative Action
    o managing the human resources function in a union environment
    o serving as a grievances officer in accordance with collective bargaining agreements
    o investigating and resolving complaints of discrimination, including sexual harassment

  • Demonstrated project management and time-management skills including dealing with multiple and competing deadlines, ability to prioritize, work under pressure, complete tasks on time and be responsive to requests
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, and in a team environment
  • Proven record of timely follow through on deadlines and deliverables; detail-oriented; highly organized; commitment to achievement of agreed-upon targets
  • Demonstrated ability to create clear, precise and effective verbal and written communication for multiple audiences

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated multicultural and/or multilingual competency
  • Doctorate or JD
  • Experience working for academic, community college or university institutions.

    This is a full time, Exempt position. Salary $130,000 - $145,000 per year plus benefits.
