Essential Functions:
The University Police Department is seeking to hire qualified individuals as sworn Reserve Police Officers to serve in a part-time capacity for the Department of Public Safety (DPS).
The Reserve Police Officer positions will be required to work a minimum of three (3) home football games, four (4) home basketball games, and two (2) additional events such as plays, concerts, lectures, and celebrations. Police Reserve Officers are expected to complete twenty-four (24) hours of training per year. The Reserve Officers do not work on patrol squads and do not assist with patrol shift coverage.

$25.00/ hourly

Minimum Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalency. Certification as a Law Enforcement Officer in accordance with the provisions of the North Carolina Criminal Justice Training and Standards.

Special Instructions to Applicants:
The Reserve Police Officers are uniformed police positions and must adhere to the Departments General Orders (G.O.). All uniforms, duty belts, and appropriate departmentally issued duty gear are provided; the applicant must provide their own shoes in accordance with G.O.
These are at-will, intermittent temporary positions with no benefits.

Candidate must meet the physical and psychological requirements of the North Carolina Criminal Education and Standards Commission, which includes a physical exam, psychological exam, and drug test.

Salary and Benefits:
$25.00/ hourly
