Position Description
Performs supervisory work in the care and maintenance of an assigned area. Supervises and coordinates workers in areas such as agriculture, athletics, grounds, housing and residence halls, physical plant, maintenance, etc.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Research project support
  • Technical Training and Support
  • Safety coordination
  • Research experiments
  • Documentation of historical and current aspects of facility and projects
  • Climbing towers and structures
  • Assistance with building management
  • Tour support
  • Ability to drive long distances (i.e. West Texas Mesonet maintenance)
  • Support and maintain the 100+ West Texas Mesonet Stations
  • Dually operate as a technician to support faculty research projects and other site administration
  • Have the ability to handle stressful situations and meet strict deadlines
  • We request the individual have a strong commitment to creating a safe environment and the ability to communicate via verbal and written means to document status, progress, etc.


Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field of study and three years experience related to assigned area; OR a combination of education and/or related experience to equal seven years.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong electrical, mechanical, carpentry, ability to operate heavy machinery, etc. skills to get projects completed
  • Certified tower and wind turbine climbing capabilities
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong commitment to creating a safe environment
  • Ability to communicate via verbal and written means to document status, progress, etc.
  • Knowledge of TTU business and service operations
  • Significant knowledge of instrumentation, electronics, and data acquisition systems. Ability to use a computer for basic needs
  • Have the ability to handle stressful situations and meet strict deadlines
