The Athletics Department at The College at Brockport, State University of New York is comprised of 23 sports and is accepting applications for the position of Sports Information Director. The position is responsible to develop and coordinate a comprehensive and integrated marketing communications program including media and public relations, publications, website, social media, and e-communications and advertising. This is a full-time, 12 month position that reports to the Director of Athletics.

Major Responsibilities

    Develops and coordinates a comprehensive and integrated marketing communications program including media and public relations, publications, advertising, promotional items, signage, website, social media, and e-communications to help achieve the goals of the College's Athletic program. Ensures information about Brockport's Athletics programs is available to the public in a timely and effective manner by developing and coordinating a comprehensive program of sports coverage which focuses on both the competitive and non-competitive activities and includes information on student-athletes and teams. Provides timely updates to supporters through the dissemination of news releases, alumni and booster newsletters and other publications. Maintains, implements and develops the website. Develops and implements a social media plan. Manages all in-game operations for statistics, score keeping and public address of all athletic events. Implements of video streaming and live stats for athletic events. Maintains a comprehensive system for filing records and statistics for all sports. Maintains the Brockport Athletics historical data including the Hall of Fame. Reports all results and statistical information to NCAA and conference affiliates. Prepares staff and student award nominations. Hires, trains and supervises student interns, student workers and graduate assistants to assist with office functions. Assists with intercollegiate event management. Evenings and weekends required.



Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university; minimum three years experience in a sports information program at the collegiate level; experience working in communication, marketing, and/or public relations; Stat Crew or equivalent statistical software experience; and, knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university; three to five years experience in a sports information program at the intercollegiate level; experience in development of website design and management; and, experience with implementation of athletics communications and marketing plan.

Department Description
The Department of Athletics is an NCAA Division III program and a member of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC), Empire 8, NCGA and ECAC Conferences. The Athletic Department promotes the mission, reputation and identity of The College at Brockport. It consists of 100 professional staff members and volunteers that serve 600+ student-athletes in various roles.
