Senior Program Director - Sustainability


The University of Notre Dame (ND.jobs) is accepting applications for a Senior Program Director - Sustainability.

The Senior Program Director, under the direction of the Sr. Director of Sustainability and Continuous Improvement, is an integral resource in driving progress towards the University's achievement of its goals within the Comprehensive Sustainability Strategy. He/she will provide content/subject matter expertise regarding Sustainability topics, advising and educating campus partners to build a culture that embraces sustainable practices, continuous improvement, and positive change to support Notre Dame's mission. This individual will provide internal consulting services (e.g., change management, deep analysis to support recommended initiatives and changes) to support the progress towards the University Sustainability goals. The Program Director will interface with senior leadership, faculty and students, facilitating and advising working groups to advance and enhance the University Sustainability Strategy. He/she will work with the other members of the Sustainability team to develop, collect and analyze metrics on progress of University sustainability goals. Along with the Sr. Director, Sustainability and Continuous Improvement, and other team members, the Sr. Program Director will provide consistency and overview in deliverance and observation of the Office of Sustainability message, policies and guidelines and be a model of campus sustainability. The Sr. Program Director will work independently and with key administrators, faculty and external partners to create and manage programs to meet sustainability goals.

Minimum Qualifications:
Masters degree or Bachelors degree with advanced certification in Sustainability, Engineering, Environmental Management/Studies/Science, or a related field. Seven or more years professional (non-internship) experience, including at least two years in sustainability or environmental programs. Experience working with and facilitating diverse groups to create specific action plans. Deep knowledge of sustainability topics and best practices. Ability to track and measure progress and represent in written and graphical manner. Strong analytical, organizational and planning skills. Excellent research, writing and communication skills, project management, partnership building, and ability to work individually and in a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a higher education work environment.
Experience identifying and pursuing grant funding, rebate programs, or other savings programs
