Partnership Development Manager -1

About the Opportunity

SUMMARY

Partnership Development Managers will be responsible for the cultivation, development, and management of new and existing employer relationships to support experiential learning for Northeastern students. Reporting to the Director of Experiential Partnership Development, this role will be integral to the creation of the new Experiential Partnership Development team, focused on developing new partnerships and opportunities in key areas of the economy where Northeastern students are looking to gain experience (e.g., the technology sector).

The role requires a high degree of collaboration and will benefit from experience in areas such as business development, job development, sales, employer relations and partnerships. The Partnership Development Managers will be measured on key performance indicators that reflect their ability to secure valuable co-op opportunities for our students. Professional backgrounds and depth of knowledge in industries related to the STEM fields are of particular interest. This position is a hybrid role and open to candidates residing near Boston or any of Northeastern's network of regional campuses, including Oakland, San Jose, Seattle and Arlington, Virginia.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong networking, relationship development skills and experience.
  • Ability to advocate on behalf of the university and its students.
  • A strategic and self-driven individual who works well under pressure.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and coordinate tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills as well as a collaborative and team-first mindset.
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2-4 years of experience in sales, employer relations, business development, or job development


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Working with university colleagues, leveraging analytics and additional software tools to identify prospective Co-op partners; developing a sales strategy to bring them into the fold.
  • Collaborating with employers to facilitate the creation of Co-op job opportunities that align with our students' educational goals and industry trends, and support employers' key hiring needs.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with employers to understand their workforce needs and identifying Co-op opportunities.
  • Establishing clear communications processes with employer-partners and acting as the main point of contact when appropriate, ensuring a high level of employer satisfaction.
  • Staying knowledgeable on industry trends, labor market insights, and changes in employer needs to adapt partnership strategies accordingly.
  • Helping to create and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of employer partnerships, such as the number of Co-op positions secured, student satisfaction, and employer retention.
  • Promptly and thoroughly recording progress in University CRM systems (to include Salesforce, NUworks/Simplicity, etc.) to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Analyzing data as needed to inform new opportunity development and identifying opportunities to expand employer relationships.
  • Providing guidance on partnership development collateral and communications strategies.
  • Regularly reporting on partnership and KPI progress.
