POSITION PURPOSE:
  • Provide teaching in an on-site and/or off-site
  • Be flexible and want to grow with our nursing students, in either the Practical and/or Associate of Science programs
  • Teach nursing students in the lab or clinical setting
  • Engage in the established curriculum and course outlines
  • Strive to incorporate evidence-based practice and participate in continual quality improvement
  • Maintain and submit necessary student records according to published guideline
  • Participate in professional development
  • Contribute to a program of scholarship, student advising, service to the College and community
  • Work cooperatively with individuals/groups in various agency settings
  • Enjoy the opportunity to participate in college governance, committees, and accreditation


Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education Requirement
    • Baccalaureate Degree with a major in nursing
  • Occupational Experience Requirement
    • Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a registered nurse at the professional level
  • Recency Requirement
    • One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
  • Professional Requirement
    • Current Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's Degree with a major in nursing, nursing administration, nursing education, public health nursing, or clinical nurse specialty
  • Previous teaching experience in the clinical setting, or lab setting, specifically, medical-surgical and long-term care knowledge
  • Experience with diverse cultures and populations
  • Experience with curriculum development
  • Professional communication skills
  • Experience with D2L BrightSpace
  • Experience with simulation education
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite
