INSTRUCTIONAL LAB TECHNICIAN-FINE ARTS (ART GALLERY)
SCHOOL OF ARTS AND COMMUNICATION
9 MONTH, 47.5% 19 HOURS PER WEEK, CLASSIFIED POSITIONS


RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Dean of Arts, Communication and Social Sciences, perform complex technical work in an instructional lab environment in a highly technical and complex subject area such as ceramics, photography, sculpture or other fine arts area.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
1. Perform general clerical duties including typing, maintenance of records, operating a computer and other tools and equipment required for assigned area.
2. Receive, install, arrange and organize art works for exhibit.
3. Matte, frame, hang and provide lighting to art works.
4. Design and construct pedestals and display cases.
5. Crate and ship art works; pick up and deliver art work.
6. Confer with artists and faculty concerning exhibit aesthetics and design concepts.
7. Work with faculty and performing arts coordinator to promote Gallery openings, programming, and events.
8. Perform related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: completion of two years of college with major course work in fine arts or history and two years of successful work experience in the field of specialty.

SALARY & BENEFITS:
Range 24, Steps 1-6, $1,998.32-$2,431.05. Initial placement for external applicants is Step 1. An excellent benefits package which includes medical, vision, dental, retirement, vacation, generous sick leave package, and life insurance is available for the employee and eligible dependents.

WORKING DAYS & HOURS:
Monday-Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 2:45 p.m. (Approximately). Work schedule may be adjusted to meet the needs of the school.

STARTING DATE: As soon as the successful candidate is identified and following the subsequent governing board approval.
