About the Opportunity:
The School of Clinical Rehabilitation Sciences seeks an HR Associate to join their growing team, within the Bouve College of Health Sciences. The School of Clinical Rehabilitation Sciences, comprised of three Departments: The Department of Communications and Disorders, The Department of Physical Therapy, Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences and the Physician Assistant Program collectively employs 44 Full-time Faculty and 11 Full-time Staff. The primary objective of this role is supporting the School of Clinical Rehabilitation Sciences as it relates to their human resources operations.

Bouve College of Health Sciences is comprised of three preeminent schools of study encompassing approximately 1,000 faculty and staff, 5,000 students, and 40,000 alumni.

Please note: The primary work location for this position is the Boston MA Northeastern University Campus Location. Until our full return to campus, which is still to-be-determined, this interview process will be conducted remotely- including virtual interviews, remote onboarding and remote work. The remote nature of this position is subject to change in the future and is only temporary. Local, on-campus work will be required once the College and this role return to an operational status that supports it.

Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Faculty Affairs & HR Administration in the Bouve Dean's Office, the HR Associate is responsible for the onboarding administration and processing of all full and part-time faculty, temporary non-students, tutors, guest lecturers, community consultants, and volunteers for both paid and unpaid appointments within the Bouve College of Health Sciences for the School of Clinical Rehabilitation Sciences. The School of Clinical and Rehabilitation Sciences consists of the Physician Assistant Program, the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, and the Department of Physical Therapy, Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences. This new school collectively includes over 100 full and part time faculty and staff and 600 students. The HR Associate will ensure that all human resources operational activities for the School of Clinical Rehabilitation Sciences are completed timely and accurately. The HR Associate will monitor visa and funding expirations and work with the HR Associate in the Dean's Office to facilitate employment/visa extensions and terminations, faculty and staff contracts, personnel action forms, as appropriate. This individual will respond to staff/faculty inquiries in the School, which requires a comprehensive knowledge of HR policies and procedures. In addition, the HR Associate provides support to the School leaders in the overall spring salary review, performance appraisal and merit process. As a key member in the School, this position must demonstrate optimal customer service and support to the School and respective Department at all times.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree in business administration or human resources preferred.
  • 4 years of relevant administrative experience required, preferably in Human Resources Management.


    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a higher education or non-profit setting preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication (verbal and written), customer service, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Candidate must be able to work accurately and effectively with salary data and confidential information. Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion in handling all information, especially confidential, is essential.
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office applications [Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word].
  • Experience using Banner-HR strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and to efficiently multi-task while providing optimal results and customer service required.
  • Previous experience working with Collective Bargaining Agreements, specifically in Higher Education settings preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team with administration, faculty, staff and students.
