Job Description:


The faculty member will work as a team member in nursing. Responsibilities include teaching theory in the classroom and the supervision of students in the clinical area and laboratory. The faculty member must be capable of teaching sophomore level pediatric and medical-surgical nursing. This position requires professional responsibilities and activities including student advising, attendance at all division, department, team and all college meetings, serving on a minimum of one all college committee, and other duties as assigned and outlined in the MCCC Agreement.


Requirements:


MSN in nursing is required. Experience in teaching pediatric and medical-surgical nursing is preferred. Candidate must be a registered nurse in Massachusetts or eligible to be registered. Additionally, the candidate must have five years clinical experience and teaching experience in nursing. The candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, experience in curriculum and course development, and knowledge of recent developments in nursing education.

Applicants should have awareness of the sensitivity to educational goals of a multicultural population. An understanding of evidence based teaching strategies to improve student learning with a wide range of instructional systems development, tutoring methods, and techniques for student support and success is critical for this applicant.

Additional Information:


Full-time benefited Massachusetts Community College Council (MCCC) position.

Worksite: Assignments may be made to any Massasoit site.

Supervisor: Reports directly to Division Dean of Nursing and Allied Health.

Term of appointment: This is a full-time, tenure track position. Terms governed by MCCC/MTA Agreement.

Salary: $55,000.00 - $61,470.00 annually, Salary is commensurate and based on the MCCC Classification Study.

Start Date: Fall 2020
