Responsibilities:

Event Management is currently seeking a talented individual to fill the role of Event Production and Technical Specialist major event venues at Northeastern University. Primary Responsibilities will be to support the 17th floor Conference Room in East Village and the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex (ISEC) event spaces. The Event Production and Technical Specialist holds the responsibility of providing oversight, expertise and direction on all technical aspects of events that take place in these venues. Events in these spaces must be held to the highest level of production and customer service standards, as most events are high profile (Presidential, SVP, VP and Dean level events, mission critical events and orientations). Other key responsibilities of this position include A/V testing and maintenance, and assisting with the daily venue operations, venue safety and security, participating in event planning and advising, providing venue information and access to clients, staff training and scheduling, and other venue or event-related logistics.

Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Operations for Event Management, this Event Production and Technical Specialist will also assist in all areas of support related to major event venues like the Curry Student, Blackman Auditorium, Fenway Center and Afterhours, Egan Center, the African American Institute (AAI) as well as providing supplemental support at times to Northeastern's Information Technology Services (ITS) for technical oversight in other event spaces on campus. This individual will be required to foster ongoing successful relationships with key executives, their support staff, and other campus partners to proactively plan and manage events.

The days of coverage for this position are typically Monday through Friday but a flexible schedule is a must as high level/mission critical events may be scheduled in the evenings, on holidays, and weekends.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelors degree in a related field. 4-6 years of experience with executive level event support is required. Live audio mixing experience is a must. International Communications Industries Association (ICIA) CTS or CTS-D certification preferred. Training and experience for servicing & supporting Crestron equipment, Digital Signal Processor (DSP) equipment, video conferencing equipment. Experience using and programming ETC lighting consoles, Yamaha Digital Soundboards, Barco & other video switching systems, Q-Lab and ProTools software, theatrical lighting and sound. Must be totally proficient in supporting connectivity of Apple and Windows desktops and laptops, presentation systems and other essential software, as well as experience and adaptability to quickly learn and understand features of new product technology (for example the latest iPhone, or iPad).

The position requires a logical and structured approach to troubleshooting and decision making with an emphasis on superior customer service at an executive level. Highest level of customer service experience including professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills and ability to multi-task are required. Must work well under pressure. Looking for candidates who are self-sufficient, self-motivated, reliable and punctual. Must be adept and passionate about learning new technologies and services.
