Job Description:
APPOINTMENT: as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach undergraduate courses in Electrical and Electronic Engineering; assess, evaluate and report on the achievement of EAC-ABET Student Learning Outcomes on a part-time basis.

RANK & SALARY: Part-time Adjunct Professor WIU-Quad Cities. Since this is a temporary, non-continuous position, benefits are not provided.

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS: Earned master's degree from an institution with an EAC-ABET accredited Electrical Engineering program; demonstrated expertise in electronics, automation, and artificial intelligence with ability to teach undergraduate courses in electronics and electrical engineering. Must be a US Citizen or a permanent resident of the US. Must be able to pass a back-ground check and obtain a security clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience relevant to the electrical engineering disciplines included in the WIU Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree (electronics, signal processing, control systems, robotics, artificial intelligence).
For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). Unless otherwise stated, the degree must be"in hand" at the time of application.

Additional Information:
THE SCHOOL: The School of Engineering was established in August of 2009 in the Quad Cities and began offering a general engineering degree with five tracks, one of which was an electrical/robotics engineering track. Within two years the School began offering all four years of undergraduate studies. In January 2017 the School began offering a mechanical engineering degree with first graduates in May 2017. In August of 2019, the Trustees and the Illinois Board of Higher Education authorized both an electrical and civil engineering degree. The first class was offered in fall semester 2019. The School of Engineering works closely with industry partners, business development entities, and the Quad Cities Innovation Center to provide students with a hands-on design experience in support of regional organizations. Our senior design projects typically involve real projects where students work with or within companies.

THE UNIVERSITY: Since 1902, Western Illinois University has provided outstanding educational opportunities to individuals in west central Illinois and well beyond our region and state. WIU's traditional residential campus in Macomb, Illinois, is the educational, cultural and athletic center of the region, while the WIU-Quad Cities non-residential branch campus in Moline, Illinois, is the only public university in the immediate Quad Cities region.

WIU-Quad Cities (Student Population: 1,192): The only public university in the Quad Cities area, WIU-QC offers select undergraduate and graduate programs, including a doctorate in education and a doctorate in environmental studies, at its metropolitan, non-residential campus in Moline, IL. It is the home of the School of Engineering.
