Brief Description
The University of San Diego's Copley Library seeks an energetic and enthusiastic individual for a 12-month tenure-track Education Librarian position. This librarian serves as liaison to the School of Leadership and Education Sciences (SOLES). The School consists of four departments:Leadership Studies,Learning and Teaching,the Department of Counseling & Marital and Family Therapy as well as the Naval ROTC program. These departments and programs offer graduate doctoral and master's degree programs; certificate and credential programs; and undergraduate minor programs. SOLES also offers undergraduate minors in Leadership Studies,Education and Naval Sciences. The School is home to and affiliated with 10 academic centers and institutes that strengthen connections for SOLES students and faculty both locally and internationally. It has 34 full-time faculty members,40+ affiliate faculty members, and 30 administrators and staff and 939 students (825 - graduate and 114 undergraduates).

Detailed Description
The University of San Diego's Copley Library seeks a creative, energetic, and enthusiastic librarian to serve as the liaison to the School of Leadership and Educational Sciences (SOLES). Reporting to the Dean of the University Library, this librarian serves as liaison to SOLES, which includes four departments: Counseling & Marital and Family Therapy, Learning and Teaching, Leadership Studies, the Naval ROTC program, and 10 centers and research institutes, such as the Caster Family Center for Nonprofit and Philanthropic Research, the Educational Leadership Development Academy, and the Global Center. This librarian will be deeply engaged in SOLES and responsible for cultivating a strong collaborative and consultative relationship with faculty and students through one-on-one research consultations, collection development, and instruction for primarily graduate programs. Teaching responsibilities will include library research methods classes, course-integrated instruction sessions, distance education courses, and workshops. In addition, the Education Librarian will assist faculty and students with APA style, altmetrics, impact factors, literature reviews, copyright, dissertation research, publishing opportunities and procedures by locating data sets and statistics, and collaborating with the SOLES Writing Center. The Education Librarian will consult with the Digital Initiatives Librarian to promote the Library's institutional repository and refer SOLES faculty and students to appropriate offices and services on campus. This librarian will periodically present at SOLES faculty meetings and serve on SOLES, library, and university committees.

Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: ALA accredited MLS is required. Minimum five years' experience as an Education Librarian. Must possess excellent speaking, writing, and teaching skills, familiarity with conducting research and new technologies, as well as be able to work individually and as a team member and be able to work on collaborative projects. Experience serving distance education students and faculty. Working knowledge of software, such as bibliographic, ATLASti, SPSS, EXCEL, Blackboard, LibGuides and adeptness with learning various software required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A doctorate or an advanced degree in a field related to this position's responsibilities is preferred. Professional involvement at the local and national levels, ability to conduct research, and to meet tenure and promotion criteria.
