Director of Impact Engine

About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY

The Director - Impact Engine serves a a data driven leader to lead a multi-functional, cross-institutional team, including members from the Office of the Provost, regional Campus teams, marketing and enrollment management, Global Launch Services team, finance, program faculty, and student services to achieve the Impact Engine's impact-oriented goals. The Director will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of program development, launch, and growth.

The Director will report to a senior leader, Dean or Associate Dean and will collaborate with college leadership to plan and deliver programs and services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

Knowledge and skills for this role are typically obtained through completion of a Master's degree with two to four years of related experience.
  • Significant experience in higher education, business development, consulting, strategic program management
  • Experience and comfort working in a matrixed organization and with people across reporting structures
  • Passion for student success through deep insights, repeatable process and specific metrics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to work independently and make decisions in a timely manner based on thoughtful analysis and critical judgment.
  • A detailed oriented, analytical mindset who thrives in a multi-tasking environment
  • Organizational tact and diplomacy; possesses superb people skills required to develop close relationships with external partners and key collaborators across the University and external organizations with a track record of building strong partnerships
  • Experience with data-informed decision-making, strategic planning and setting market strategies.
  • Exceptional communicator and presenter who can engage at all levels in an organizational and community context
  • Evidence of managing multiple priorities, teams and stakeholders with an approach that balances relationships, outcomes, quality and speed.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

1 ) Program management, development, and operations:
  • Lead multi-year strategic planning and implementation of programs throughout the Northeastern global university system.
  • Develop plans and implement solutions to grow and expand programs, researching and evaluating potential markets, and developing plans for launching and scaling programs in different locations.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leaders, faculty, students, staff, and industry partners to launch at new campus locations, tailoring program offerings and learned experience to the launch location.
  • Launch operational systems that interface with CPS, NU, and outside institutions/companies, where applicable.


2) Community college, industry and global network partnerships:
  • Launch and manage a community college, industry and global network strategic partnership strategy
  • Develop and implement solutions to grow and expand eA2M programs through partnerships
  • Develop and grow partnership team focused on community colleges, industry, and community organizations that generate enrollment pipelines, co-op, and job opportunities for learners


Student Success:
  • Implement strategies, set metrics and measure outcomes to effectively engage diverse students for equitable access and success.
  • Ensure students engagement opportunities (e.g., career workshops, resume writing, networking events) meet student demand on a term-by-term basis.
  • Develop and implement a data-informed plan to ensure high quality student/faculty/customer service.
  • Work closely with associate / assistant deans, directors, coordinators, admissions and advising staff within the College to coordinate all student events as part of eA2M programming.


Enrollment Management:
  • Coordinate overall program enrollment performance, including data-informed management of enrollments, margins, learner and faculty success.
  • Partner with Enrollment Management and Admissions for admission policies, timelines, pipeline, and student support through the admissions process of the eA2M program.
  • Build partnerships and pathways with community college partners and other organizations to grow and expand access pathways and opportunities for learners.
  • Coordinate with Global Launch Services on CPS's overall undergraduate go-to-market strategy and program portfolio within the global university system.
  • Implement enrollment solutions based on accurate and reliable enrollment, schedule, and faculty information for all undergraduate programs.


3) Program quality:
  • Ensure that faculty and staff in each program are centered on student outcomes - in academic progress, program completion, and experiential learning.
  • Partner with industry partners and college resources to provide experiential learning opportunities within the portfolio of undergraduate programs.
  • Build and grow relationships with key stakeholders, including faculty and staff involved in launching the programs, as well as students, external partners, and other key individuals or organizations to ensure success of the programs.


4) Management and Leadership
  • Develop and lead a team dispersed across the Northeastern ecosystem, engaging in partnership work, community engagement and student support.
  • Manage Impact Engine budget, working with financial teams to develop budgets, tracking expenses, and making decisions about resource allocation to ensure that programs are financially sustainable and meet the needs of various stakeholders.
  • Represent the university in external meetings and negotiations related to non-traditional programs.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and accreditation standards, including staying up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations, as well as working with accreditation bodies to ensure that programs meet all necessary standards.
