Job Description:
APPOINTMENT: July, 2019

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Director of the Facilities Management provides leadership and oversight for meeting the physical facility needs of the university while maintaining compliance with appropriate federal and state statutes, laws and regulations. Reporting directly to the Vice President for Administrative Services, this position provides senior level administrative oversight and responsibility for the administrative and operational functions of the Facilities Management including facilities administration, building and mechanical maintenance, building services, facilities planning and construction, heating plant, utilities, landscape maintenance, environmental health and safety, fire protection, transportation services and environmental sustainability. The Director will directly supervise and mentor unit supervisors while overseeing approximately 300 employees.

Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree
Progressively responsible leadership and administrative experience in facilities management
Proficient experience in the ability to develop and manage a team of facilities professionals in a customer focused organization
Proven oral, written, and presentation communication skills
Ability to successfully interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Complex analytical, organizational, supervisory, reasoning, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
Commitment to increasing diversity within the work force

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree
Previous experience working with multiple collective bargaining units
Experience in higher education or a similar large scale operation
Working knowledge of public procurement procedures
Experience in facilities planning and prioritization of needs
Working knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations
