Job Summary:
Reporting to the Vice Provost for Institutional Budget, Planning, and Analytics, the director manages all aspects of the Sacramento Campus. Specifically, the director assesses marketing needs; develops and manages marketing campaigns; negotiates and realizes outreach and recruitment goals; and oversees advising, retention and other student services in cooperation with the schools and College, the Office of Strategic Enrollment Management, and the Office of Student Life.

The director works with, and facilitates communication between and among, school/College administrators, faculty, and students at both the Sacramento Campus and the Hilltop campus. The director hires, trains, motivates, and supervises both an office manager and assistant director of enrollment and recruitment as they work together to achieve common goals. Within university guidelines, and in coordination with the Office of Planning and Budget and the Office of Facilities Management, the director administers the campus budget and the campus' physical plant.

In addition, the Sacramento Campus director:

  • Assists with the development of annual enrollment targets in coordination with the schools/College and the Center for Institutional Planning and Effectiveness. Develops and manages short- and long-term outreach and recruitment plans to meet annual revenue goals.

  • Develops deep knowledge of the local community, its educational needs, and comparator programs and institutions.

  • Develops marketing strategies, materials, and outreach programs in conjunction with the schools and College, vice provost, and other campus directors. Working closely with colleagues from the Office of Marketing Communications, develops and implements advertising, promotional, and direct mail or digital campaigns. Leveraging resources provided by the Office of Institutional Research and Analytics, tracks, analyzes, and reports on recruitment activities and results. Facilitates information sessions for prospective students as appropriate.

  • Coordinates standards for campus services to prospective, current, re-entry, alumni, and returning students in cooperation with schools and the College, as well as Strategic Enrollment Management and Student Life colleagues. Works quickly to resolve student concerns and to facilitate resolution. Assists and supports students and alumni through mentoring and networking opportunities, career information, and referrals to professional groups. Recruits and trains alumni to be mentors for students. Works together with schools/college and other University colleagues to assess student satisfaction on an ongoing basis.

  • Trains and supervises colleagues who provide recruitment and enrollment services to current and prospective students in the area. Consults with faculty to identify students' needs and problems. May counsel students regarding majors and minors. As appropriate, reviews transcripts and conducts unofficial transfer credit evaluations. Advises students of financial responsibilities for tuition, withdrawal policies, and financial aid. Supervises registration and orientation of students. Serves as a liaison with colleagues who are responsible for addressing the needs of transfer students and managing articulation agreements with other institutions of higher learning.

  • Develops and supervises planning for, and management of, campus budgets. Develops, and adheres to, best practices for maximizing the effective use of funds.

  • Works collaboratively and professionally with deans, associate and assistant deans, program directors, faculty, and various offices (e.g., admissions, student financial services, registrar, CASA, etc.). Works with and communicates effectively with the Vice Provost for Institutional Budget, Planning, and Analytics and other campus directors.

  • Communicates and builds professional relationships with corporate, not-for-profit, educational and community partners in the region. Engages in community service as appropriate and as time permits.

  • Supervises, trains, and motivates campus colleagues, including direct reports.

  • Maintains effective communication with stakeholders at the schools and College, as well as other administrative offices at the University.

  • Leveraging appropriate resources at the University, manages campus facilities, including room schedules, office supplies, campus security and safety, and campus maintenance. Creates and maintains a campus environment for students and faculty that is conducive to learning and teaching. Works with Accounting and Business Services colleagues to negotiate and enforce the terms of leases.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
