Data Analyst and Web Manager

Salary for Announcement: The beginning of the salary range is $57,124. The final salary will be commensurate with the education and experience of the selected candidate.

Position Summary:
This position plays a critical role in researching, preparing, and analyzing data for the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, and its associated units to increase retention, enrollment, and advance equity within CLAS. This position will not only coordinate the data needs for the College, but also maintain and update its website in addition to providing website support to units within CLAS. The Data Analyst and Web Manager works in a collaborative relationship with the CLAS Dean's Office, faculty, students and staff.

Duties/Responsibilities:
25% 1) Conducting analysis for College leadership to use in academic planning, decision-making, and forecasting to University leadership, external donors and constituents, and external reporting and accrediting bodies;
10% 2) Utilizing internal university sources to gather report requirements and objectives from end users, producing spreadsheets, and publishing reports;
25% 3) Creating reports on course, student and faculty metrics including, but not limited to, the following: enrollment, transfers, demographics, graduates, seat utilization, wait lists, holds, attrition rates, grade and success rate analysis, and registration trends;
10% 4) Providing ongoing training and support to departments to determine the specific needs of the academic program within CLAS;
20% 5) Supporting the Deans Office and departments with maintenance of websites, including designing and uploading web content, maintaining and correcting web pages, assuring compliance with MSU Denver web standards, providing assistance to departments on web mastering and completing special web-related projects as needed; an
10% 6) Providing general administrative assistance in the form of applying excellent customer service skills, answering phones, assisting students with questions, providing information and redirecting students to other resources, as needed.

Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelors degree.
2. Professional experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
3. Experience with updating and maintaining websites; and
4. Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research strategies and methods
2. Experience analyzing complex information to identify problems and relevant factors, formulate logical conclusions, and recommend solutions
3. Experience in statistical analysis and testing, and an ability to make them relevant to academic departments of diverse sizes
4. Proficient in identifying needs, defining requirements, and establishing clear outcomes for data analysis projects
5. Ability to adapt to new tools, learn new software and refine workflows to adapt to changing needs and environments
6. Experience working with and sensitivity to the needs of a diverse urban student population including, but not limited to) students of color, LBGTQIA students, students from low-income backgrounds, first-generation students, students with disabilities, undocumented students, non-traditional students, student veterans, and English-language learners
7. Bilingual/biliterate in Spanish
8. Self-motivated and flexible in order to meet overlapping multiple deadlines
9. Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills
10. Strong writing skills and the ability to write for a variety of audiences
11. Excellent customer service skills, problem solving skills and ability to respond effectively to difficult situations with care and professionalism
12. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team
