Job Description:
APPOINTMENT: This is a 10 month appointment, with an expected start date of 08/01/2020.Two positions are available.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage a caseload of individual and group therapy clients.
Provide direct services to students in the form of individual personal counseling, group counseling, crisis intervention and educational/prevention programming during regular office hours and on occasion after hours.
Document sessions accurately in Electronic Health Record system in accordance with legal and ethical standards and established University Counseling Center policy.
Participate in committee work (departmental, and/or university wide) and special projects as needed.
Maintain a current knowledge base and Illinois clinical license through continuing education.
Provide consultation services for faculty, staff, parents, students, and others.

Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Hold a master's or higher degree in Counseling, Psychology or Clinical Social Work. Licensed professional counselors will be provided weekly clinical supervision with the expectation they are qualified, and sit for the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Exam within three years post-employment.
Ability to demonstrate superior clinical and therapeutic skills and to foster positive therapeutic relationships with a diverse population of students.
Comprehensive knowledge of clinical theories, diagnoses, interventions, and referral services both on campus and local community providers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Multicultural competence, including but not limited to experience and expertise in working with students of color, students from lower income backgrounds, first generation college students, and LGBTQ students.
An understanding of the social, developmental, and psychological issues and challenges faced by diverse populations of students within a higher education setting.
Experience with Public Speaking
For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). Unless otherwise stated, the degree must be"in hand" at the time of application.

Amtrak provides twice-daily service from Macomb to Chicago (and point in-between). Macomb is located approximately 75 miles from the Quad Cities International Airport (Moline, IL) and 70 miles from the Greater Peoria Regional Airport (Peoria, IL).

WIU-Quad Cities (Student Population: 1,192): The only public university in the Quad Cities area, WIU-QC offers select undergraduate and graduate programs, including a doctorate in education and a doctorate in environmental studies, at its metropolitan, non-residential campus in Moline, IL.
