About the Position:
The Diversity Initiatives and Resource Center aims to create learning environments and opportunities that support the University mission by preparing students to become socially conscious leaders in a global society. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as Coordinator (Student Services Professional III) of the Titan Dreamers Resource Center. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, inclusive practice, openness, flexibility, integrity, and compassion.

Under the general direction of the Director of Diversity Initiatives & Resource Centers, the Coordinator of the Titan Dreamers Resource Center (TDRC) assists in the coordination of the Titan Dreamers Resource Center. Major responsibilities include: planning, coordinating, and implementing the programs and activities sponsored by the TDRC. Coordinates the day to day activities of the TDRC including hiring, training, and guiding the work of student staff; communicating and coordinating with relevant on and off campus stakeholders regarding the activities of the TDRC; tracking use of the center and tracking approved expenditures. Provides staff support and advice as well as prepares oral and written reports for the Director and, upon request, other relevant campus leadership on relevant TDRC issues and concerns. Identifies and collaborates broadly with appropriate on and off campus constituents to improve outcomes related to the recruitment, development, enrichment, inclusion, retention, and student experience of undocumented students on campus. Ensures that, through collaborations, the TDRC creates opportunities for students to pursue scholarly research, provides cultural awareness education, and provides collaborative activities that promote retention and student success. Works with Strategic Communications and Government Relations to manage media presence, external partnerships, campus relations, and institutional communications. Works closely with campus and off-campus partners to interpret and communicate ongoing legislation, remain updated on related actions, and coordinate legal clinics for students to speak with experts around immigration law. Coordinates legal clinics with community partners as response to changing legislation and resource to students in understanding legal rights. Works with appropriate stakeholders to assess and evaluate processes that incorporate student learning outcomes and co-curricular High Impact Practices; assists with broad Diversity Initiatives & Resource Centers' department events, functions, and duties as assigned to meet the strategic goals of the Student Engagement cluster. Provides counseling and guidance to students as needed. Other duties as assigned.



Essential Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field including or supplemented by upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution plus three years of professional student services work in the field. A masters degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work or a job-related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience. A doctoral degree from an accredited college or university and the appropriate internship or clinical training in a relevant field may be substituted for three years of the required professional experience.

Ability to plan, develop, coordinate, supervise, and organize programs and activities. Ability to interact with a diverse student population, faculty, staff, and the public. Ability to analyze complex situations accurately and adopt effective courses of action. Ability to advise students individually and in groups on complex student-related matters. Ability to complete assignments without detailed instructions. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of individuals. Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to acquire knowledge of campus procedures, activities, and the overall organization.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Special Working Conditions:
Fast paced environment with multiple interactions. Some travel required. High level of group and interpersonal interactions with students, faculty, staff and community partners.
