About the Position:

The office of Parking and Transportation is committed to providing services and alternatives to the CSUF community that mitigate parking and traffic congestions, improve air quality, reduce emissions, and promote personal health and well-being. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Cashiering Services Lead (Accounting Technician III). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.


The Cashiering Services Lead is responsible for transactional support and reconciliation of in-person and online transactions completed at the Parking Office, Visitor Information Centers, and Permit Dispensers located in the parking lots and structures. The Cashiering Services Lead is responsible for correcting all online sales errors and in-person transaction errors, and serves as the liaison between Student Financial Services and Accounting when necessary. Responsible for exercising sound judgement when responding to and handling complaints and inquiries. The Cashiering Services Lead serves as the primary contact for permit dispenser activity, including reporting, backend setup, maintenance and repair. Responsible auditing all credit card terminals (permit dispensers and in-person) to ensure compliance with PCI standards, maintain log of audit activity and respond to issues related to credit cards and PCI requirements. Responsible for monitoring activity of front counter operations, ensuring work is assigned appropriately. Responsible for change funds, accountable for monthly audits and distributing change as needed to cashiers. Reporting to the department accountant, this position oversees Parking Cashiers responsible for implementing high level of customer service and cashiering accuracy. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:

Equivalent to four years of progressively responsible financial record-keeping experience. Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities. Ability to lead staff and ability to make decisions based on department guidelines.

Comprehensive knowledge of financial record-keeping methods, procedures, and practices, and a basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). May provide technical and/or work direction to other employees. Strong customer service skills, ability to work with constant interruptions and keep up with parking updates, and cashiering accuracy.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.


Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to perform several tasks that have equal priority. Prior leadership experience.

Ability to work under constant interruptions.
