$66,036 (Class II, Step 6) - $91,169 (VII, Step 10) Annually
Based on education and experience

Tenure-track CVT Faculty also receive an additional $1000 per month of their 10-month contract.

Job Description

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Program Coordinator, a full-time faculty member, assures achievement of the program's goals and outcomes, and is responsible for all aspects of the program, including the organization, administration, continuous review, planning, development and general effectiveness of the program in accordance with internal and external accreditation standards. The Program Coordinator provides supervision, administration and coordination of the instructional staff in the academic and clinical phases of the educational program. This role has the responsibilities and performs the duties of the Grossmont College Instructional Program Coordinator, described here.

This position may include a combination of day and evening assignments, large lectures and small seminars, laboratories on and off-campus, and is being offered by a college strongly committed to the "open door" concept serving a diverse student population. Instructors will be expected to perform other duties consistent with their faculty job description as stated in the faculty contract, found here.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: APPLICANTS MUST MEET ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The Program Coordinator must qualify to be a full-time faculty member and possess a higher level of education and/or professional experience than that for which the students in the program are being prepared.

*Bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience. Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master's degree. The professional experience required must be directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment.

RVS - Registered Vascular Specialist

RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must demonstrate:
  • The Program Coordinator must be registered in at least one of the cardiovascular specialties for which they assume a primary teaching role.
  • Knowledge in the clinical application of cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology.
  • Ability to instruct and motivate students in a broad spectrum of Cardiovascular Technology skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally with colleagues and students.
  • Evidence of a strong commitment to remain current to the scope of practice of Cardiovascular Technology and the CVT curriculum.
  • Skills and experience to motivate students from a broad spectrum of academic, socioeconomic, age, cultural, language, disability, sexual orientation and gender identity, and ethnic backgrounds.


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will also be evaluated for qualifications in the following:
  • Willingness to participate in the college campus community.
  • Ability to successfully meet criteria established by clinical agencies to participate in clinical practice facilities (i.e. background checks, immunization requirements, etc.).
  • Evidence of participation in national and/or local professional organizations for continuing education, and community related projects or events designed to increase public awareness of the risk factors and dangers associated with cardiovascular disease.
  • Ability to design and implement curriculum in Cardiovascular Technology such as electrocardiography, medical instrumentation, noninvasive procedures and vascular testing.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the general faculty job description as stated in the faculty contract.
