Western Illinois University invites applications for the newly created full time position of Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management. The Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management is a senior cabinet level position that reports directly to the University President and leads the undergraduate admissions (Macomb and Quad Cities campuses), financial aid and retention departments, with four directors currently reporting to this position. The Associate Vice President plays a key role in shaping strategy and practice in all phases of the enrollment process for new and continuing students, including working with senior leadership to set University enrollment goals. This position will require both broad oversight as well as a hands-on management style. The selected candidate will have experience and knowledge of data-driven admission forecasting, best practices in student recruitment, and CRM utilization.

Job Description:
APPOINTMENT: July 1, 2020. This is a full time, 12-month position and is exempt from overtime.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement a strategic enrollment plan including marketing, enrollment and financial aid optimization strategies using industry analysis and best practices to meet WIU enrollment goals
Develop enrollment forecasting models for segmented student populations, and leads campus conversations about long-term enrollment goals
Chair an enrollment planning campus-wide committee
Generate and present comprehensive institutional enrollment reports to senior organizational decision makers, including Cabinet, Faculty Senate and Board of Trustees
Oversee the analysis, presentation and utilization of data, especially related to actual and projected student enrollments
Offer innovation in strategy and decision-making to impact the application life cycle, with the intent of yielding improvement to meet both enrollment and university budget goals
Exercise oversight of all divisional budgets
Effectively represent Western Illinois with stakeholders, outside agencies, on and off campus groups, media and other constituencies as needed
Manage third party vendor relationships, as needed.
Work collaboratively across divisions to ensure the best possible experience throughout the life cycle of the student
Oversee processing for all undergraduate applications, including new freshman and transfer admissions. Coordinate with graduate school for graduate admissions and international programs office for recruitment of international students. Coordinate with budget office and University Housing and Dining in support of scholarships and waivers.
Support the implementation of our new ERP system by providing guidance on data that will be required to support enrollment management efforts
Provide support and oversight for student retention processes, including orientation programs. Coordinate with the academic division in support of all student success initiatives.
Provide leadership in the development of internal procedures and operations for the new division. Identify opportunities to streamline and improve the receipt of applications for all students on both campuses and online.
Engage with diversity programs (e.g. Multicultural Center, University Diversity Council, etc.) to develop specific opportunities for recruitment and success of a diverse student population.

Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree required
Five years of experience in a senior management position (director or higher) leading a successful admissions, retention and/or financial aid team
Knowledge of current enrollment management practices and issues
Ability to use enrollment trend data in establishing priorities, and developing strategy and objectives.
Outstanding leadership and team building skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong budget management and supervisory skills
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Excellent attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of academic, administrative and external constituencies

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Understanding of federal financial aid guidelines and requirements and experience with financial aid strategies and leveraging
Experience in a four year regional public institution
For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). Unless otherwise stated, the degree must be"in hand" at the time of application.

WIU-Macomb, IL (Student Population: 6,432): A traditional, residential four-year campus with offering a comprehensive slate of undergraduate and graduate programs, including a doctorate in education, WIU-Macomb is located in the heart of west central Illinois in Macomb (population 20,000). Amtrak provides twice-daily service from Macomb to Chicago (and point in-between). Macomb is located approximately 75 miles from the Quad Cities International Airport (Moline, IL) and 70 miles from the Greater Peoria Regional Airport (Peoria, IL).

WIU-Quad Cities (Student Population: 1,192): The only public university in the Quad Cities area, WIU-QC offers select undergraduate and graduate programs, including a doctorate in education and a doctorate in environmental studies, at its metropolitan, non-residential campus in Moline, IL.
