The AVP, Product Management supports the Product Management Team with the development of the program roadmap and the management of all facets of a products life cycle. The AVP, Product Management maintains close relationship with the market (customers, competitors, prospects) for awareness of market needs and perspectives within the industry. AVP, Product Management reports to the Provost. This role oversees one or more Product Managers, Associate Product Managers, or Project Managers as well as the area of market intelligence.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive the product strategy of assigned schools, programs, or initiatives within the University's academic program offerings. Articulates and quantifies market opportunities. Ensures portfolio differentiation and competitiveness (35%).
  • Leverage market research and stakeholder feedback to develop program roadmaps that will inform programs and curriculum creating a competitive advantage that drives incremental growth. Includes recommending programs for refresh or discontinuance. (20%).
  • Drive execution and timeline management by leading and/or supporting the project management of cross-functional teams, which manage existing and create new offerings to targeted learners. Work with academic, marketing, operations and admissions teams to create, launch and rollout programs within assigned schools. Work with regulatory and compliance teams to obtain the required approvals for program launch. Defines standard procedures for product delivery, launch and updates (20%).
  • Collaborate with faculty and marketing to create supporting materials that educate and create awareness for the University's internal (including admissions and corporate sales) and external customers, always highlighting the USP's of each program (10%).
  • Deliver presentations to internal and external facing customers. (5%).
  • Investigate and deliver ad hoc research and analysis requests. (5%).
  • Train the admissions teams on the market and product (5%).

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of Product Management experience.
  • Education / Higher Education knowledge preferred.
  • Team player with the ability to interact positively with all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, effectively balancing resources to meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to understand and communicate offerings and features.
  • Good organizational, time management and presentation skills.
  • Research skills, including both electronic and traditional methods.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ideal candidate will have the flexibility and innovative leadership that are required to thrive in a rapidly changing technology market.
  • Education industry background a plus

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
