Associate Registrar of Transfer Evaluation

Salary for Announcement: The beginning of the salary range for this position is $61,486. The final salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

Position Summary:
This position exists to lead and manage the transfer credit evaluation team. It is responsible for ensuring that transfer credit processes are efficient, accurate, documented, and communicated effectively to faculty, staff, and students. In addition, this position will continually evaluate and enhance services in order to provide exemplary service to students, Faculty, and staff. This position will directly lead the transfer credit evaluators and Prior Learning Specialist and be responsible for overseeing review and articulation of transfer credit, updating procedures/processes, communications, and other duties as assigned. This position will report to the Registrar.

Duties/Responsibilities:
45% Supervision & Leadership
Responsible for providing leadership and management of the transfer credit evaluation team, which includes setting goals and objectives, creating and conducting performance evaluations, providing continuous updates & training on transfer related policies/procedures, and addressing concerns/issues. Trains staff on all processes that impact transfer articulation, including Banner forms, workflow, interpreting academic policies and procedures, updating college catalogs, etc. Responsible for developing and maintaining a current transfer credit manual/standard operating procedures. Routinely evaluates processes for improving efficiencies to improve the transfer student experience and timeliness of evaluation completion.

20% Customer Service & Communication
Provides clear transfer credit expectations and ensures that transfer evaluation practices are meeting the needs of students, faculty, and staff. Develops communication and ensures that it is timely, accurate, and student/staff-friendly. Works in collaboration with Transfer Admissions and Graduation team on a regular basis to evaluate and enhance processes, communicate changes, and seek feedback and input. Interprets, clarifies and applies policies and standards related to transfer credit and communicates them to students, staff, and academic departments. Anticipates impact of policies created by CDHE and/or Faculty Senate and communicates those to the evaluation team, faculty, staff, and students.

25% Transfer Evaluation Coordination
Serves as the main contact for all external and internal inquiries to the transfer team. Coordinates all transcript document management through AppExtender (document imaging system). Manages the Banner Workflow processes for transfer credit evaluation. Serves as an expert resource for the university community by assisting in resolving transfer issues, researching course acceptability and accreditation of unfamiliar institutions, providing guidance for pathways and building of articulation agreements, etc. Serves as the International transcript evaluation expert while ensuring that the evaluation team is adequately trained and conducting international evaluations. Serves as the liaison to all faculty to obtain specific transfer requirements established by various academic departments. Advises administrators, faculty, and staff regarding state guaranteed transfer guidelines and articulation agreements with accredited and non-regionally accredited institutions. Serves as a co-lead on the EAB Transfer Portal system and is engaged in the implementation and on-going coordination and effectiveness of this credit evaluation tool for students. Oversees the Prior Learning Specialist and ensures that we are following any AP, IB, Military, CLEP, Portfolio and Challenge exam policies.

10% Other
Works directly with the Registrar leadership team to develop unit objectives, goals, setting priorities, and short-and-long range planning to guide efficient and effective operations. Serves as the representative on efforts (committee, etc.) to review and improve processes related to transfer credit. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree
Experience providing supervision and performance management over professional staff
Experience working in an enrollment services department in Higher Education
Experience working with Banner or a related student information system

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with transfer credit
Experience with project management
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
Experience developing and identifying policies and procedures towards improvement
Experience working in a Registrars Office
Experience working both independently and collaboratively on a team
Excellent oral and written skills
