Ph.D. or Ed.D in secondary education, literacy, STEM education, or related field
Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2019
Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in literacy (secondary focus) with an emphasis in one or more STEM-related disciplinary content areas (STEM, Science, Educational Technology, Engineering and/or Mathematics)
A valid public school teaching credential
Demonstrated teaching effectiveness at the K-12, post-secondary and/or professional levels
Demonstrated potential for research, scholarly and creative activities
Demonstrated commitment towards effective interventions for English Language Learners, At-Risk Students, and Students with Special Needs
Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population
DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
At least three years of demonstrated successful secondary public school teaching in diverse urban settings
Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the area of secondary reading/language arts or secondary content area reading methods in STEM
Demonstrated teaching effectiveness and excellence at the college level in teacher education, with an emphasis on content area literacy and secondary education
Experience in K-12 partnerships and clinical practice in teacher preparation
Experience in collaborative projects in STEM-related areas at the K-12 and/or higher education levels
Established record of research, scholarly and creative activity in content area literacy, STEM education, and/or secondary education
Demonstrated expertise and effective use of a wide range of instructional technologies pertaining to teacher education
