Required Qualifications:

  • DNP or Ph.D. in Nursing or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Current license or eligible for licensure (must obtain within the first year of employment) as a registered nurse and nurse practitioner or other clinical care provider in the State of California
  • Demonstrated evidence of research and publication record commensurate with the rank of Associate Professor
  • Demonstrated effectiveness for teaching at the college level
  • Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • M.S. degree also in nursing or related field
  • Expertise in advanced pathophysiology, advanced pharmacology, advanced physical assessment, or epidemiology
  • Clinical specialization and experience in psych/mental health
  • Work experience in the clinical setting within the past five years
  • Experience as a nursing educator in didactic and/or clinical in postsecondary nursing programs
  • Success in obtaining external funding through grants and contracts
