Responsibilities:

The Asst Dir-Marketing&Promotions is a position that will be responsible for the coordination of all in-game promotional activities, student and external marketing efforts, helping to fulfill sponsor obligations, lead our group ticket and merchandise sales efforts, and assist with spirit group and pep band management. This position will work with others in the Athletic Department and across campus to raise awareness about athletics and focus on the idea of Home Court Advantage as it pertains to attendance and in-game atmosphere. It will also work directly with the Athletic Communications Department to organize promotions and event announcements (advertising, social media, signage, website, etc.) to our target audiences, the Athletic Ticket Office to promote season, individual and group ticket sales, the Office for Student Affairs to promote student attendance and enhance the student experience and the Office of Alumni Relations to promote athletic events and pre-game festivities.
Other duties will include planning and execution of student trips to post-season events and marquee matchups, serving as a marketing liaison to league marketing offices, designing promotional materials, and supervising 20-30 work-study students responsible for promotions, marketing, merchandise sales and for game-day operations.

Qualifications:

A Bachelors degree is required, Masters degree preferred. Candidate must have 3-5 years of experience in athletics marketing and promotions; must have good organizational, written and oral communication, time management skills, design capabilities, and the ability to take on multiple tasks and work independently or in a team setting. The candidate must be willing to work nights and weekends depending on the game schedules for particular sports.
