Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Management - Family Business

The Department of Management at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), invites application for a tenure-track open rank position with appointment starting no later than Fall 2020, with the possibility of earlier appointment. We are seeking to fill an endowed chair position in Family Business with a faculty member who possesses a distinguished teaching and research record in this emerging field. This individual will join a Family Business program that is a Center of Excellence in the College. Established in 1995, the Family Business Council and Center sponsors one of the nation's premier family business programs. The Department of Management strives to attract and retain candidates who are committed to furthering CSUF's identity as an institution that welcomes and embraces diversity.

Position
Opportunities for this position include the following:

Teach undergraduate, graduate, and executive education courses in Family Business and a secondary management area (e.g. Organizational Behavior, Strategy, HR, Operations)
Drive development of Family Business academic and professional curriculum
Play an integral role in the CSUF Family Business Council
Advise students interested in family business
Conduct and encourage research in family business issues
Work with the Center Director to grow the Family Business Council and support base
Participate in department, college, and university activities

Required Qualifications
The individual should possess the following credentials:

Relevant Ph.D. degree from an accredited institution
Experience to warrant appointment at the rank of assistant, associate or full professor
Strong commitment to teaching and research
Ability to interact effectively with a culturally diverse range of faculty and students
Substantial experience and/or qualifications in the Family Business area, such as relevant research and/or a history or experience working with family business.
University teaching experience and industry work experience are beneficial

Rank and Salary
This position will be tenure-track at the rank of assistant, associate or full professor, depending upon qualifications. An endowment supports a supplemental stipend and course releases, awarded on a renewable term basis. Salary is commensurate with rank, experience, and qualifications. The Department of Management
The Department of Management is the largest and most research productive group of management faculty in the entire CSU system. We have 27 tenured and tenure-track faculty supplemented by 3 full-time lecturers and about 50 part-time faculty. Our faculty have recently published their research in journals such as Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management, Journal of Applied Psychology, Organization Science, Personnel Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and Human Resource Management, among others. Department faculty are on the editorial boards of the Journal of Organizational Behavior, Group and Organization Management, Human Resource Management, Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Vocational Behavior, and Academy of Management Learning and Education. The department houses four centers of excellence that engage faculty and students with the business community- The Center for Leadership, the Center for Entrepreneurship, the Center for Family Business, and the Center for Entertainment and Hospitality Management. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications and is subject to budgetary authorization and any California State University System faculty contract increases.
