The Department of Information Systems and Decision Sciences (ISDS) in the Craig School of Business (CSB) at California State University (CSU), Fresno seeks applicants for a tenure-track, academic year position as an Assistant or Associate Professor in Computer Information Systems. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate students in face-to-face and online formats, conduct scholarly and applied research, and engage in service-related activities. Primary teaching responsibilities and research interests will be in the area of Artificial Intelligence (AI), as well as in other information systems areas such as Network Management, Database Management, Project Management, and Computer Programming. Specific assignments will depend on Department needs.

The CSB empowers future business leaders by helping young professionals embark on successful careers in business and economics. With approximately 3,000 majors, we offer bachelors' degrees in Business Administration (with 12 different options including one in Computer Information Systems with 100 students) and Economics, and both a traditional and executive MBA. The CSB is the first CSU business school to receive a naming endowment, a ten million dollar pledge from Sid and Jenny Craig, and also the first in the CSU to be accredited by AACSB, International - this in 1959. Our priority for engaged learning experiences is addressed through internships, mentorships, applied projects, service learning, professional events, an international program and a highly involved regional business community. The CSB offers Business Scholars and Honors programs for outstanding students who want to challenge themselves and conduct research with faculty. The MBA is recognized by the Princeton Review as a top business program.

Required Education: An earned doctorate (Ph.D. or DBA) in Information Systems, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive Computing, Computer Science, or other closely-related disciplines from an accredited institution is required; however, applicants nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) will also be considered. For continued employment in the tenure-track position, the doctorate must be completed by 8/12/2019.

Required Experience: Candidates are expected to demonstrate 1) Evidence of teaching ability or potential to teach effectively at the undergraduate level; 2) Evidence of scholarly achievement or potential for publications in scholarly journals, and; 3) Ability to demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

To be considered for Associate level, the candidate must also demonstrate substantial evidence of excellence in teaching Artificial Intelligence at the undergraduate level and have an established record of research and scholarly publications in Computer Information Systems.

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidates will 1) demonstrate the completion of graduate-level course work in Business Administration or have business, professional or managerial experience in relevant Computer Information Systems areas particularly in Artificial Intelligence and 2) industry/practical experience of emerging IT technologies for business and management including AI (like IBM Watson), VR/AR (Virtual Reality/Augment Reality), Deep Learning, Robotics, IoT, and blockchain databases.
