Job Description

Position Summary

Under direct supervision, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide excellent customer service utilizing the 5 Guiding Principles of Service Excellence to internal and external entities.
  • Organize and oversee activities and operations of lower level classified and student employees involved in the day-to-day operations of the Office of the Registrar within respective campus. Establish and implement procedures and desk manuals to ensure Service Excellence at all times.
  • Work with front desk managers at other campuses to ensure uniformity of service at the three main campuses.
  • Diffuse irate callers that have been referred by lower level staff in-person, over the phone and via email.
  • Review documents prepared by others for program compliance.
  • Identify discrepancies, resolve problems and provide guidance to lower level staff.
  • Authorize and approve documents within assigned parameters.
  • Train, supervise and evaluate the performance of personnel as assigned; assign, prioritize and review work; ensure completed work products meet required timelines and standards of quality and quantity.
  • Maintain, review, compile and make initial determinations on eligibility for instate tuition, program of Study and bio-demographic information changes within assigned parameters using the policies established by the Board of Regents. Record decision on student file, ensure that any implicated financial calculation reflects decision and that student is notified of decision.
  • Prepare Residency appeals for Residency Appeals Committee for a final decision.
  • Prepare reports using spreadsheets to summarize statistical data pertaining to residency, program of study, and bio-demographic information changes and other Office of the Registrar operations for review by internal and external entities.
  • Maintain Records for the Henderson campus Office of the Registrar as required by NSHE, American Association of College Registrars and Admissions Officers, and other entities.
  • Work closely with Financial Aid, Veterans Education and Transition Services, Advising, Transfer Credit Evaluation, Academic and graduation departments to ensure compliance is maintained.


Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of general clerical experience which includes maintaining records and public contact; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a community college, Office of the Registrar setting.
  • Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)


Salary Range

Grade 27, Step 1 - Grade 27, Step 10

$36,790.56 - $53,598.96
