Salary:

Anticipated Hiring Salary: $2,600 - $2,850 per month

Note: This is a full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week), probationary, non-exempt position.

Overview:

The primary purpose of this position is to provide a full range of clerical and administrative support for the Craig School of Business's Development Director. Projects are usually of moderate scope and complexity, such as completion of smaller to medium scale or components of larger projects. Incumbent is expected to possess skills in accounting policies and procedures, office operations, and in the use and application of office technology software including word processing, database, electronic spreadsheets, online calendars, and desktop publishing software. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written are a prerequisite as the incumbent is a key point of contact with constituents. Works closely with the staff of the University's Advancement Services, Central Development Office, President's Office, Dean of the Craig School's Office, and VP of University Advancement's Office. The incumbent should possess an entrepreneurial spirit, enjoy working with diverse groups, be detail-oriented and possess the ability to cultivate and sustain relationships.

Position Summary:

  • Provide administrative and event support to the Development Director, including but not limited to processing financial transactions, update donor database, mail handling and mass mailings, travel arrangements, scheduling and arranging meetings, events and luncheons
  • Assist with gift processing, donor acknowledgements and stewardship of donations to the Craig School of Business
  • Provide logistical support in all aspects of fundraising, including but not limited to annual giving and membership drives
  • Maintain and gather data in support of development activities, projects, and special events
  • Compile and prepare reports and correspondence of a confidential nature
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and resource within and outside the University for the Craig School Development Office
  • Create and maintain standard and electronic files and records
  • Screen calls and visitor inquiries using discretion to provide excellent customer service at the most appropriate level
  • Take minutes and prepare formal documentation for community boards and advisory groups.
  • Create and edit digital and printed communication, such as online news briefs, social media and collateral materials
  • Foster and maintain strong working relationships with faculty, staff, and community members
  • Ability to identify and solve problems using sound judgement and discretion
  • Act consistent with established long term development goals and objectives
  • Other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Fluency in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email
    • General working knowledge of and skill in office procedures and practices.
    • Ability to perform standard arithmetic functions of a transactional nature, including tracking and comparing data
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, including a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
    • Ability to:
      • Independently handle multiple and competing work priorities
      • Work effectively in a highly consultative and collaborative environment
      • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff and funding representatives from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds

      • Troubleshoot and creatively solve problems using discretion, initiative and innovation
    • A history of regular attendance and positive performance evaluations

    Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Two years of related administrative support experience

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience reconciling and maintaining financial accounts with knowledge of business accounting beyond basic arithmetic (i.e.: ratios, percentages, track financial data, and make simple projections.)
    • Experience with website maintenance, digital and social media, and graphic design
