Job Summary:

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is recruiting for a Residency Program Coordinator to support the OBGYN residency program and a variety of weekly continuing education courses and meetings. The Department has a strong basic science research core and in the clinical setting, faculty members practice and teach in the following subspecialties:
  • General Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Maternal-Fetal Medicine
  • Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
  • Gynecology Oncology
  • Complex Family Planning
  • Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology
  • Urogynecology (MIGS)
  • OB-GYN Hospitalist


The OBGYN Residency Program currently has 41 residents. This coordinator will work in collaboration with the Residency Program Manager and under the direction of the Program Director. Residents in this program rotate at UCHealth, Denver Health and Rose Medical Center.

Residency Program Coordination (75%):
  • Assist the Residency Program Manager with coordination, planning, management, and logistical arrangements for residency activities.
  • Assist with the annual updates for faculty and resident scholarly activity in the ACGME annual report.
  • Assist with coordination related to the annual residency recruitment interviews.
  • Assists the Residency Program Manager with sensitive or confidential information regarding residents.
  • Help disseminate and interpret the GME, RRC and CREOG policies to residents.
  • Perform monthly monitoring of resident case log entry and weekly duty hours compliance monitoring.
  • Track and maintain resident compliance reports
  • Organize and coordinate resident semi-annual evaluations and semi-annual oral exams.
  • Assist with annually onboarding new interns into the program.
  • Organize and coordinate the intern orientation week.
  • Assist with the annual residency graduation banquet and resident research day
  • Maintains the department academic year calendar for all educational activities related to the program, including resident teaching lectures and simulation curriculum
  • Assist with the maintenance of the residency MedHub software program, including resident demographics, test scores, resident vacation schedules, and resident sick leave
  • Complete residency verifications as needed.
  • Oversee invites, resources and materials for distribution, room reservations, recruitment of appropriate faculty and resident speakers, catering, etc.
  • Coordinate and attend several campus events including interested student dinner, residency informational meetings, match student dinner, and annual career dinner.


Program Oversight, Analysis, and Improvements (25%):
  • Support directors and analyze program and faculty/resident evaluations, low evaluation scores and concerns raised at exit interviews, exam scores, etc.; identify problems and provide directors with suggestions for addressing them. (e.g. Continue work educating faculty about how to write appropriate student evaluations, reopen evals, send individual emails with guidelines, discuss guidelines at meetings).
  • Assist directors with agenda for medical education program and grading meetings.
  • Implement improvement plans, ensuring the program follows SOM and LCME policies and requirements. Produce reports as needed.
  • Support program directors as needed, to include making travel arrangements,
  • Support directors' projects, pilots and departmental education, and research projects.
  • New course curriculum, liaison with new longitudinal programs.



Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution and 2 years of professional experience related to higher education.
    • An advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis if the degree is in a field of study directly related to the work assignment.


Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with University of Colorado procurement systems (i.e. Concur, Marketplace, etc.).
  • Experience booking travel arrangements (airfare, hotel, rental cars, etc.).
  • Meeting and event planning experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of current ACGME, GME, RRC, and CREOG policies to ensure all residency activities meet accreditation standards.
  • Familiarity with the competency areas for GME professionals outlined by the GME office.
  • Understanding of and competence in the use of the MedHub program to build and maintain the evaluation and rotation database and schedules.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $52,961 - $67,367.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
