About the Position:
This role is an on-campus, in-person position.
This position serves as a key admissions operations partner to Graduate Departments, providing centralized support to ensure accurate, efficient, and consistent admissions processes. Responsibilities include applicant record management, graduate transcript evaluation, document processing, and coordination of admissions-related financial transactions in support of departmental admissions goals.
Essential Functions:
- College Transcript Evaluations
- Perform academic history and GPA calculations.
- Review required academic materials and addressing inconsistencies on an as-needed basis.
- Manage enrollment holds for applicants who had satisfied outstanding requirements.
- Communication and coordination with graduate department contacts on a regular basis and adhere to best practices set by Moody School and SMU.
- Application Materials
- Scan mailed documents and transcripts and process through Slate CRM system.
- Process application materials from various external vendors through Slate CRM systems to fulfill applicant's checklist requirements.
- Monitor Data Updates
- Review and process term updates and application withdrawals.
- Facilitate admission revocation process with Enrollment Services departments.
- Perform record consolidation to resolve duplicates.
- Fulfill Opt-Out request lists from various sources/vendors.
- Financials Tasks
- Post admission deposits to student accounts.
Prepare deposit and application fee payment transactions to post to graduate academic schools.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's is required.
A minimum of 3 years of experience is required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite specifically MS Word and Excel and experience with student administrative systems (PeopleSoft, Slate CRM or closely related systems) is a plus. Work experience with higher education is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must be able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others. Must also demonstrate strong and effective communication both orally and in writing.
Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills. Attention to detail is important to success in this position.
