The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of complex catheter ablation and device implantation. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Candidates must be board certified in or board eligible in cardiovascular disease.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching responsibilities include teaching CCEP fellows, cardiovascular fellows, medicine residents and medical students on the inpatient consultation service; teaching CCEP fellows and cardiovascular fellows in outpatient clinic; and teaching CCEP fellows in the EP lab.
Clinical responsibilities may include outpatient clinic of at least one full day per week. Performing procedures in the EP lab approximately 3 days per week. Inpatient consultation service 2 times per month. The selected candidate will have the training and ability to independently perform ablation of supraventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia, as well as to implant traditional, leadless, subcutaneous and extravascular CIEDs. Experience with epicardial access/mapping/ablation, coronary venous mapping, intracardiac echo from the left atrium and ventricle and laser lead extraction are preferred.
