Job Summary:

The Department of Emergency Medicine has an opening for a junior level Data Analytics and Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to evolve our curated portfolio of analytic solutions that turn data into insights. Accountable to all the Emergency, Urgent Care and Virtual Urgent Care service lines within UCHealth, you will use your skills to collaborate, collect, analyze, abstract, design, develop, deploy and innovate a broad range of analytical tools that support clinical / operational processes and departmental / organizational initiatives to contribute to best-in-class patient care.

IT Principal Professionals are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Accountable Work involves managing, creating, integrating, applying, and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field. Work is performed at an expert level, independently, and with minimal supervision.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Integration & Reporting - 40%
    • Collect, consolidate, and validate financial data from diverse systems and sources.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive reports that support operational and strategic objectives.
  • Visualization & Analysis - 40%
    • Build interactive dashboards and visualizations using Power to present complex data in a clear, actionable format.
    • Identify trends, variances, and key performance indicators to inform decision-making.
  • Process Improvement - 10%
    • Recommend and implement enhancements to reporting processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaboration - 10%



Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management/computer information systems, computer engineering, information technology, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • Two (2) years of experience working as a Business Intelligence Developer or Data Analyst.



A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.



Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.



Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with Epic or any other Electronic Health Record.
  • Experience working with Python, R or other statistical modeling tools.
  • Experience working w/ Artificial Intelligence (AI) specifically Microsoft Co-pilot.
  • Experience working in Visual Studio Code with version control i.e. Github and TFS.
  • Experience in a healthcare or academic medicine environment.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Advanced proficiency knowledge of SQL, testing required.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Analytical mind with a keen problem-solving aptitude.
  • Familiarity with data warehouse design and data mining, and an in-depth understanding of database management systems and online analytical processing.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $81,522 - $100,247

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
