Job Description Summary

This is a recruitment for a short-term/temporary position. This recruitment will be open until the position is filled. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until filled. The main assignment is for 8 hours per day for 4 weeks: 6/11 through 7/2/2025 (Monday-Sunday)

Under supervision of Instructor, assist students in understanding course content and completing course work for Marine Biology and Marine Biology Lab (BIO 222 & BIO 222L).

Essential Functions & Qualifications

Required:

Serve as classroom aide for BIO 222 and BIO 222L
Lead and mentor small groups of students while studying Marine Biology
Knowledge of Marine Biology and Field Biology techniques
Assist with field and laboratory exercises
Experience working collaboratively with college students
Complete Mandated reporter training prior to start of the assignment.
Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Desired:

Experience tutoring and aiding in the classroom or related experience.
