Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer
Associate Vice President and Chief Information OfficerCalifornia State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB) is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and highly experienced technology leader to bring a holistic IT vision to its campus. Reporting to the Vice President for Administration and Finance/Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) provides vision, inspiration, leadership, planning, and management for CSUMB's technology office in support of the institutional mission and priorities articulated in the University's strategic plan.
The CIO has central responsibility for the University's IT Division, coordinating with administrators, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community partners to make successful and lasting contributions to institutional success in support of the university's academic mission and student focus. As a core member of the leadership team, the CIO will be critically involved with IT policy formulation, IT budgetary decisions and problem-solving, and will offer advice and counsel on the implications of IT decisions.
The ideal candidate will bring ten years of experience with increasing responsibilities for management and leadership of information technology professionals; demonstrated experience in IT strategic planning, complex budgeting and personnel management; experience leveraging technology to achieve the most effective and efficient solutions to support teaching, research, and student learning and business processes; and demonstrated experience in working in an environment that requires a high degree of customer service skills and a proven commitment to promoting and maintaining a service-oriented culture. A bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Instructional Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related discipline is required.
