Job Summary
Manage, coordinate, develop and implement a comprehensive advisement support resource development program for recognized organizations at Georgia Southern. Provide continuity, infrastructure development, training, support services advisement and program oversight to officers and members of the University Programming Board. Serve as leader and team player to promote the goals and carry out the mission of the Division of Student Affairs, Office of Student Activities, Georgia Southern University.
This position has been identified by Federal Law (Jeanne Clery Act) as a Campus Security Authority (CSA), with significant student and campus responsibilities. CSA 's are obligated to report crimes reported to them which occurred on campus, in public areas bordering campus and in certain non-campus buildings owned or controlled (leased) by the University.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate and enhance student engagement efforts, including major programming that focus on student development and retention.
- Directly supervise Student Engagement Coordinator and Graduate Assistant and co-advise other, general student assistants.
- Assist in strategic planning for the department, including master planning for student development and engagement
- Provide assistance in developing reports and graphical interpretation of data and information.
Provide leadership development/training opportunities based on core competencies and best practices to 300+ registered student organizations while serving as a direct resource to approximately 65 student organizations and their respective faculty/staff advisor. - Working some nights and weekends is required for this position.
- Serve on University and departmental committees as assigned.
- Represent the University at campus, community and recruitment events.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in related field

- Ability to obtain a Purchasing Card
Required Experience
- Three (3) or more years of related professional work experience
- Experience working at an institution of comparable size to Georgia Southern
- Supervisory Experience

- Master's degree in Higher Education student services or Counseling Education

- Student advising experience
- Collegiate student programming experience
- Budget management
- Experience with Presence (student engagement platform)

Proposed Salary
$47,000 - $52,000
This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
