Softball Assistant Coach (Hitting) - 12 Month

Position

Assist with coaching a highly competitive women's softball program which competes in the NCAA Division I Big West Conference

Recruit Division I quality student-athletes

Know and abide by NCAA, University, and Big West rules and regulations

Assist with the monitoring of the academic progress of student-athletes

Assist with team practice and game day coaching responsibilities

Scout and conduct statistical analysis of recruits and opponents

Take an active role in marketing women's softball on campus and within the community through public appearances and promotional efforts

Serve primarily as the hitting coach

Additional duties may include assisting in coaching all aspects of the game

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree desired

Division I coaching experience preferred

Professional playing/coaching experience preferred

Ability to recruit Division I level student-athletes and a demonstrated commitment to their satisfactory academic progress

Ability to interact successfully with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, and to work harmoniously with students and colleagues

Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations

Knowledge of CARA, ARMS, Jump forward, or other tracking program

History of technically and mentally developing and managing a Division I hitting staff

Experience using technology to coach athletes

Must have a valid driver's license

Rank & Salary
The classification for this position is Coaching Assistant, and is in the faculty bargaining unit. This is a 12-month, full time position. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
