Job Description

Under the direction of the Financial Aid Assistant Director, the Senior Systems Analyst will lead team projects and manage individuals meeting deadlines for projects; Assist IT staff with the design and development of reports; QBU's and Pop-update set up; Lead in testing the PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) bundles and keep up with HEUG to be aware of issues/resolutions that other PS schools are reporting that are similar to CSN issues; Provide support with complex problem analysis and resolution; Assist with the design and development of reports that meet specific business needs; Help develop data extracts that support campus business processes; Assist with quality assurance testing of application customizations/modifications and application upgrades; Utilize Microsoft Access and Excel to collect, analyze and provide report data to Assistant Director for institutional, state and federal reporting; Provide support with complex problem analysis and resolution; Assist with the design and development of reports that meet specific business needs; Provide data for ad-hoc staff requests; and in the absence of the AD, supervises Financial Aid IT and bring issues to AVP.

The Senior Systems Analyst must have strong interpersonal skills and be proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint to communicate effectively with internal and external constituents; Provide staff training; Serve as an information resource to internal and external constituents; and provide technical and practical assistance with student data and related systems.

The ideal candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Experience in enterprise-level query writing, must have a basic understanding in SQL.
  • Knowledgeable in or the ability to learn PeopleSoft's Equation Engine.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • An understanding of what financial aid is with basic definitions such as grants, loans, scholarships, work study, need/non-need & merit-based aid.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study from a regionally accredited College or University; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of experience that includes at least 1 year of supervising experience.
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel (using formulas) and Access (creating queries, reports and/or macros).


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a computer related field of study from a regionally accredited College or University; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in Institutional Research or Financial Aid IT or a similar data analytics related field.
  • Experience analyzing academic data (e.g., Financial Aid Application, awarding data).


Starting Salary Range
Administrative Faculty C
$58,561 - $62,660

*This position is contingent upon ongoing and available funding.
