This is a part-time application pool for hiring needs that may arise during the year. Applications are considered throughout the year and reviewed based on department need. Available work schedules are 4:00 am - 8:00 am, 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm, or 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm.


You must be able to work one or more of these set schedules.


PURPOSE OF POSITION
:

To effectively clean, sanitize and disinfect all campus buildings and structures in order to maintain a high level of cleanliness. Other duties included but not limited to cleaning carpets and hard floors using various electrical equipment like pressure washers and carpet and floor cleaners. Also maintaining courteous and professional behavior towards our students and all staff members.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

:

1. Custodial Services (60%)
1.1. Empty trash and recycle receptacles from offices and common areas daily.1.2. Stock, clean, and disinfect restrooms daily. Use an approved cleaning agent to clean all restroom fixtures. Sanitize floors and stall walls with an approved cleaning agent.1.3. Vacuum carpets daily. Strip, wax, and recoating of hard floor surfaces, as needed.1.4. Dust, wipe down and sanitize furniture and hard surfaces in offices, included desks and tables.1.5. Clean windows, as needed.1.6. Maintain proficiency by attending training and meetings, reading materials, and meeting with others in areas of responsibility. 1.7. Follow all safety rules and procedures for work areas.1.8. Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
2. Customer Service (20%)
2.1. Cleaning common areas such as kitchens, staffrooms, conference rooms and labs using approved cleaners to clean sinks, counters, tables and sometimes small appliances.2.2. Ensure all classroom and building exterior doors are locked, as a double check for Campus Safety.2.3. Reporting of safety and emergency issues, such as power outages, during night shift.2.4. Reporting suspicious activity in or around buildings/routes to campus safety, during night shift.2.5. Maintain cooperative working relationship with College staff, other organizations, and the public.
3. Maintenance Assistance (15%)
3.1. Complete work facility work orders when facilities (toilets, sinks, faucets, etc) are not working properly.3.2. Replace batteries, light bulbs etc. as needed.3.3. Furniture and equipment removal and set ups.3.4. Provide assistance to other college personnel as workload and staffing levels dictate.
4. Stocking and Inventory (5%)
4.1. Replace soap, paper towels, toilet paper etc. in a restroom on a daily basis, as necessary.4.2. On a bi-weekly to monthly basis, order cases of various paper products needed to supply an assigned build/route., for weeks or longer, depending on need.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

:

High school equivalent AND 6 months of related work experience. Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the duties as described.

Knowledge of general cleaning principles and practices, use of chemicals, and safe operation practices of related equipment. Preferred knowledge of hazardous spill procedures, safety data sheets, hard floor care, i.e. stripping/recoating floors, and carpet cleaning.

Ability to exemplify traits that reflect the College's culture, including integrity, a customer service orientation, cultural competency, trustworthiness, flexibility and a willingness to change.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OR LICENSES

:

Driver's license valid in the State of Oregon.

WORKING CONDITIONS
:



The position requires limited (0-20%) ability to use dexterity and fine motor skills assemble, build or repair machines or other objects. Occasional (21-50% of the time) use of office equipment.

The position requires continuous (80+%) physical effort such as lifting, carrying, or movement, etc. Movements required to complete work require continuous speed, agility, hand eye coordination and equipment operation.

The work environment is protected with only some occasional hazards or obstacles (20-40%). There is a moderately low level of personal risk or hazard. Job conditions are occasionally uncomfortable, with moderate (20-40%) issues of confinement, temperature change, incident of noise, or interactions of a disagreeable nature, inside/outside work, dirty conditions, exposure to contagious disease, etc. Position may have some responsibility for driving.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
:


Supervision of others is not a typical function assigned to this position. May provide training and orientation to newly assigned personnel, and may assign work to student workers.

:


Works under the general direction of the Custodial Manager.
