Essential Functions:
The primary purpose of this position is to administer and manage the business and financial affairs of the School of Education. Responsibilities include facilitation and management of financial resources that may be state appropriated, contracts and grants, and/or receipt generated. Positions in this class perform a range of financial and business related duties associated with specialized areas such as accounting, budgeting, auditing, and/or grants administration. Functions assigned to the business officer role may include financial management, personnel administration/management, payroll, purchasing, inventory control, facilities coordination/planning, information technology assessment/planning, and closely related work. Positions may perform or have oversight of accounts reconciliation, maintenance and reporting of financial data, financial projections, cash/receipts management, personnel planning, and facilities management. Most positions in this class have responsibility for accounting/business standards and practices, policy interpretation/implementation, the organization of work, and the supervision of others.

Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related business area; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Optional Guidelines:
*Contributing: Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related business area; or Associates Degree and two years of Administrative, Business, or Financial Management Experience.
*Journey: Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related business area and two years of Administrative Management or Business Management Experience.
*Advanced: Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related business area and three years of Administrative Management or Business Management Experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The successful candidate must possess a working knowledge of Banner Finance or an equivalent system; demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word and Excel) Applications; knowledge of office and record management; ability to independently manage a variety of business functions with varying funding sources, and serve as a resource and liaison in the interpretation of and compliance with policies and procedures from various agencies; ability to monitor and modify internal procedures to ensure efficient and effective business practices, and to serve as a liaison and represent the department in both external and internal strategic and financial planning; ability to apply accounting and budgeting principles and practices; ability to work independently with little or no supervision; to take initiative to see projects and assignments through to completion; to learn, interpret and analyze information to make necessary decisions; to exercise judgment and discretion in problem solving; to plan, prioritize and organize workflow; excellent analytical and organizational skills along with written and oral communication skills; great interpersonal skills to interact effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of individuals in a high pressure environment.

Salary and Benefits:
$38,748 - $74,071
