Job Summary

o The Department of Psychology and the Behavioral Health Innovation and Dissemination Center (BHIDC) at the University of Utah are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research fellow with expertise in quantitative methods for clinical trials research and/or for basic dyadic research This is a fixed-term position for a duration of one year, with no possibility of renewal or extension and is ideal for candidate seeking clinical hours and a short-term, high-impact research experience. The BHIDC is an interdisciplinary research and training outpatient psychotherapy clinic located on the University of Utah campus that is conducting cutting-edge clinical trials research in addition to providing low fee psychotherapy to adults, children, and couples across the state of Utah. The fellow will join a vibrant team of researchers, clinicians, and graduate trainees at the BHIDC. The fellow will work primarily with BHIDC Director, Dr. Brian Baucom, with opportunities for co-mentorship from Mona Yaptangco, Ph.D. (Research Assistant Professor and Clinical Psychologist). Mentorship will include training in advanced quantitative methods, statistical consultation, and grantspersonship as well as guidance in professional development.
o The postdoctoral fellow will have access to University wide resources, including access to the BHIDC clinic, which supports clinical work and clinical research, statistical mentorship, and grantspersonship mentorship. Clinical opportunities may be available, but not guaranteed, which include providing on-campus and community-based psychotherapy (preference for strong training in cognitive behavioral therapy) including individual, couple, and group treatments, supervision of graduate student trainees, and community training and outreach.

They will be responsible for:
o Perform statistical analyses (MPlus, SPSS, R, Stata) to assist with manuscript preparation and grant submission
o Provide statistical consultation to University of Utah graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, faculty, and staff.
o Assist with coordination and management of on-going funded awards.
o Write or assist in writing internal and extramural research grants
o Assist in preparation and submission of manuscripts for publication
o Oversee data collection for independent or pilot research projects

* Preferences: o A doctoral degree in clinical psychology, social or developmental psychology (or in similar social or behavioral sciences), counseling psychology, social work, or medicineo Have completed their APA-accredited predoctoral internship by the position start date.o Strong quantitative skills (e.g., knowledgeable in MLM, SEM, dyadic data analysis, longitudinal analysis)o A publication record that would support applications for internal and external fundingo Experience working on grant-funded projects and/or managing a lab or research project.
