Clackamas Community College (CCC) seeks to hire a

Nursing Assistant Clinical Instructor
. This is a part-time faculty, exempt, term-by-term, and non-benefits-eligible position. Anticipated schedule
: Clinicals are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, during week 5 of the term, from 6 AM to 3 PM totaling 45 hours per clinical shift. All clinicals will take place in long-term care or assisted living facilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsibilities of the Part-Time Faculty include, but are not limited to:
  • Ensure students develop requisite entry-level knowledge, skills, and competencies to sit for certification or licensure and/or work in the field:
    • Employ strong independent judgement, subject matter expertise, interpersonal skills, and knowledge of teaching theory and methodologies;
    • Advise, assist, and tutor students, and connect them with available resources to support their learning;
    • Effectively communicate with faculty, staff, students, and community partners;
    • As appropriate, coordinate, develop, or oversee Advanced College Credit courses with high school instructors.
  • Support the college's mission, vision, and values, through participation in and advancement of institutional initiatives.


Qualifications





MINIMUM/MANDATORY EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

OSBN Division 61 requires the following from Nursing Assistant Educators:
  • Associate Degree;
  • Hold a current, unencumbered Oregon Registered Nursing (RN) license;
  • Minimum of two (2) years' professional experience as an RN, with at least one (1) year in direct patient care in a licensed nursing facility;
  • Minimum of one (1) year teaching adults or evidence of preparation for teaching adults (evidence by OSBN appropriate "Train the Trainer" course);
  • Current certification in CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers and First Aid, or the ability to obtain it prior to employment.


REQUIRED SCREENINGS AND IMMUNIZATIONS (after hire):

  • Hepatitis B (Hep B) series with titer to confirm immunity;
  • Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR);
  • Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap);
  • Varicella;
  • COVID-19;
  • Influenza (seasonal flu);
  • Tuberculosis (TB) IGRA Blood test or chest x-ray;
  • After hire is complete, this position will need to complete a 10-panel urine drug screen and criminal background check, which will be coordinated by the department.


DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience teaching NA in the classroom, lab, and clinical setting;
  • Demonstrated experience of Oregon State Board of Nursing standards, accreditation, and self-study;
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish language preferred).

Terms of Employment

  • All positions at CCC are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college and requires a flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends.
  • Faculty will be required to meet minimum Oregon Health Authority standards prior to being in the clinical setting, including a criminal background check and drug screen;
  • Faculty must maintain required licensure/certification.
  • Those offered employment will be required to complete and sign forms before initiating the background check step.
  • CCC employees must reside within 50 miles of Oregon City, Harmony or Wilsonville campus as a condition of employment.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States must be provided if selected for hire.
  • CCC does not support employment permits or visas.
  • Providing false information will result in rejection of an application, employment offer or dismissal.
