Job Description:

Office/Location: SUNY System Administration, Office of Workforce Development and Upward Mobility

Job Summary: The Research Foundation for SUNY is seeking a skilled, organized, and self-directed professional with strong skills in data analytics, data reporting, and project/grant management for the position of Manager, Data and Operations to support the Apprenticeship Programs at SUNY, the Office of Workforce Development and Upward Mobility, and partners located across New York State. The position will report to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Workforce Development.

Job Duties:
  • Maintain and enhance a platform, built on Smartsheet, used for data management, project tracking, and reporting
  • Support the data management and reporting of Registered Apprenticeship and other SUNY related programs operating across New York State including college activity, finances, participants, training, employer partners, etc.
  • Design, implement, and govern reporting systems and interactive dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive strategic oversight
  • Support data entry, monitoring, and processing to meet grant tracking, compliance, performance and deliverable requirements
  • Communicate with and support staff and partners to ensure alignment with program goals and achievement of program deliverables
  • Work with team to troubleshoot process bottlenecks, brainstorm scalable solutions and manage the implementation of operational improvements to maximize efficiency
  • Implement project management best practices, streamline processes, and create documentation and video guides for staff and partners
  • Review partner reports to ensure accuracy
  • Assist with budget development, financial tracking and reporting
  • Travel in support of project activities and partner meetings (approximately 5% across NYS)
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements:

Required Education/Qualifications:
  • Associate degree
  • Seven years of progressive experience in data analytics, data reporting, and project management
  • Advanced proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using Excel formulas (e.g., VLOOKUP, nested IF), PivotTables, and PivotCharts to rapidly summarize complex datasets and drive reporting efficiencies
  • Experience optimizing workflows and automating processes using scripting
  • Ability to work with and coordinate activities of multiple groups and stakeholders including faculty, staff and administrators; regional workforce development organizations; and other stakeholders
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, and implement processes and programs in an effective and timely manner
  • Ability to be flexible, positive, take initiative, prioritize tasks and demonstrate good judgment
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills


Preferred Education/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree
  • Experience with state/federal grant program, planning, reporting, and evaluation
  • Familiarity with the Smartsheet platform


Salary: $70,000 - $75,000
