Position Summary: The primary location of this position is the main Cullowhee, NC campus. This position is exempt from the State Human Resources Act (EHRA).

The position is responsible for all financial and business management of Facilities Management. In the performance of this task, the Business Officer supports the Associate Vice Chancellor in activities relating to operating budget and finance, strategic planning, personnel, office procedures management, accounts payable, billing, motor pool transportation service, warehouse management and computer systems. This position also assists with oversight of capital budgeting; payment vouchers; and capital expenditure tracking.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required for this position include:
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles of public and business administration
  • Substantive knowledge of personnel administration, purchasing, and accounting practices and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and direct fiscal and business services
  • Demonstrated ability to select, train, and supervise employees in administrative/business operations
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to work independently


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for this position:

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in business administration, public administration, or related business area and three years of administrative management or business management experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
