Job Description:



  • Position code: ADJFC

  • Job type: Part-time Adjunct Faculty

  • Type of course: Hybrid

  • Class level: Graduate MOT Bridge students. This course is a course required for those in the MOT Bridge program who have an associates degree and are working towards their masters degree.

  • Date class is scheduled to begin: August 26, 2019

  • Class schedule: As a hybrid model the course content is delivered online with our Canvas learning system each week with an additional 8 onsite face to face meetings with the instructor. Students come on site in East Longmeadow from 1 - 3 pm approximately every other Saturday. The following are on site Saturdays for Fall 2019: September 7 & 21, October 5 & 19, November 2 & 16, and December 7th with Final Exams the 14th.

  • Duration of class: 16 weeks; ends December 15, 2019

  • Time of class: Saturdays 1- 3 pm


Course Description: This is an introduction to the basic descriptive and inferential statistics for students from all disciplines. It emphasizes the development of statistical literacy and the use of computer for analyzing data. Topics include principles of experimental design; graphical and numerical methods for summarizing, describing, exploring and analyzing data; binomial and normal probability distributions; point and interval estimates for means and proportions; hypothesis testing; and correlation and regression.



Requirements:



  • Masters degree in a related field required.

  • Previous teaching experience preferred

  • Ability to adhere to University policies and procedures.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Should be committed to a culture of diversity, respect and inclusion.

  • General knowledge of the University's mission, purpose, and goals and the role this position plays in achieving those goals.
