The Department of Theatre and Dance at California State University, Fullerton, invites applications from highly qualified individuals for a Full-Time Lecturer position (non-tenure track) in the area of Theatre History and Dramatic Literature. Appointment date: August 2014. Teaching responsibilities will include lower-division, upper-division, and graduate courses in theatre history/dramatic literature/criticism/theory/script analysis, a writing-related course in dramatic/theatrical criticism, and other courses in the major, as needed. (The position does not entail stage directing or actor training.) Multiple year and ongoing renewable contracts may be available and are contingent upon satisfactory performance. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. A Ph.D. in Theatre History/Dramatic Literature is required for appointment. Ideal candidates will be able to document their excellent academic preparation in the above-listed subject areas, strong commitment to intellectual inquiry and education in these disciplines, rigorous academic standards, and an exemplary record of teaching specifically relevant university courses at all levels. In addition, documentation of a strong record of scholarly achievement, successful teaching of playwriting at the university level, and proficiency with online teaching approaches may further enhance an applicants candidacy.
